Guide to Creating an Avatar at PKR Poker

June 22, 2009

PKR Poker has been a creative force in the poker industry in terms of its software and amazing graphics. If you were not to play there for the games or bonuses, it would definitely be because this is the closest combination to realistic poker and video games as it gets. They have developed “Emote Control” which is a list of different emotions that your avatar can express and can be used to for several purposes which include giving off tells, egging people on to make bad calls, or trash talking. This is an excellent feature and is one of the top features and a great reason to try the PKR download.

But before you can start calling people “losers” or give that lucky guy at the end of the table a “thumbs down,” you will first need to create an avatar. This process can be as simple as you want or as extensive as you want and will all depend on how much time you want to spend. What I have done below is create a simple step-by-step guide to creating your avatar for the first time. By following this guide, you should be up and ready to play using the “new you” within minutes.

How to Create an Avatar

The very first thing that you will want to do is choose from being a male or female. Although this may be disappointing to some of you, but you cannot be both sexes simultaneously and you cannot cross dress. So if you like to wear dresses choose the female option and if you like facial hair and nice button up shirts, choose the male option.
Once you have chosen a sex, then you can choose a head/face. There are several options in terms of ethnicity and color of skin. If you cannot find something that is the exact match to what you are looking for, chose the closest option as you will be able to change some of the details in the mouth, nose, and cheeks later on.
Choose a build. Your choices are skinny, normal, and fat or small, medium, or large. Although I can think of more ways to explain it, this should be rather self-explanatory.

Now that you have chosen a head and body you can now choose your hairstyle and color, and if you are a man a facial hairstyle. The one thing I did not like about choosing a hair color was the manner in which the colors are displayed. It seemed very difficult to know exactly which color was what. I think it would be much better to have a color wheel or something similar, but since they are not too many options to choose from, it should not take to long to cycle through and find one you like.

If you are a female, you can choose if you would like to have painted nails.

Now it is time to move on to creating some detail in your face. From my experience in video games where you have 20+ options in tweaking the features in your face, I find that this is really simple to do. What I enjoy most is that if you want to make your nose bigger, another feature such as your mouth or eyes will automatically adjust. This will prevent people from making a face that is out of proportion and resembles a marshmallow over an open flame or better yet, E.T. You can also make yourself look younger or older and you are given several different “texture details” which just gives different variations such as being shaven or unshaved, makeup, or having grey hairs.

Next, you will want to find some clothes. You have several options for both male and female avatars. You can find sweaters, jeans, button up shirts, and a few different shoe options.

Last, you will want to choose a voice for your avatar. There are 7 different options available ranging from English to Spanish which will help distinguish you from other players.

PKR Avatars

As you can see, creating an avatar at PKR is very simple and in all honesty, it is actually fun. You can easily spend an hour if you wish trying to get the “right look.” An important tip to keep in mind is that you can move your avatar from left to right by clicking on them and moving the mouse. This will allow you to see a side view or “profile” of your avatar.

If you though this was fun, wait until you actually play at PKR for real money. By playing for real money, you will earn PKR points which can be used to buy various things for your avatar such as tattoos, different kinds of clothing, or other accessories such as jewelry, hats, glasses, and much more. Most of these options are 100 PKR points are less which is a great value.

In all honestly, I would just play at PKR to simply create a cool looking avatar. But whatever your reason, you are sure to have a good experience playing there and by using our guide above, you will have an awesome avatar to use as well.
